spring poll.

can some one post how to make a sping pole useing bike innertubes intead of springs? Has any one done that before? I heard wiezies dog screwed his grill up before on a busted spring.

ive seen stuff on youtube where peoples made springpoles outta different types of things..i seen a guy make one out of those bungie cords with 2 hooks at the end and it looked like it worked pretty well.

yeah i need to make a new one..peanut's was indoors and he broke it out of the celing thru the rafters. i had a garage door spring and it was fine because i had it way up out of Peanut's reach..had a bit of rope in between the spring and the toy...also, i have heard of people covering the spring so that it is protecting the dog from getting hit by it.

I have one like that. It's our temp spring pole until we have another tree cut down. I just use a heavy duty rope and the bike tire. Works great and it's cheap..lol.

I like it because Zoe likes it high, she likes to hang. And I feel it is better on her teeth.

Yeah see thats excataly what I was thinking of. I thought that just some rope and an old tire would be perfect. Kinda like an tire swing, only a little bit different lol.

your spring pole needs some flex in it so it doesnt wear on your dog. it could eventually cause some back and neck trouble if there is no sort of "springy" to it....hints why its a spring pole.

***UPDATE***

we have fixed Peanut's indoor spring pole. It is almost the same setup but it is reinforced in the rafters and there is a wooden 2'x2' board on the celing (so no more broken out drywall) also we wanted to make it more quiet and a little safer so we wrapped the spring itself in a bike inner tube. it is great not much noise at all and it gives a little more resistance. I do not have pictures yet but i will take some soon.

its not slapping he uses his front paws to grab it and pulls it to himself. he does that with the old toy that was on it but now it has a small tire on a rope "tirebiter" so far he just grabs that one with his mouth.
