hunting

does anyone here take there dogs hunting bores,rabbits,raccoons, or any other small or large game?? im curious because i have trained one of my dogs to hunt rabbits when we go on our nature walks in the woods(yes there are woods in nyc). she also likes to give those lighting fast squirrels a run for there money :)

I used to hunt boer before I moved to California. I still have my dog I used to hunt with! It is lots of fun and she always enjoyed every minute of it. I didn't just do it for fun or sport but for food! :) I figured it was way easier to use the dog than to shoot 9 or 10 times just to get a boer to go down, lol. But right now I just have my girls dig out squirrel holes and as dangerous as it sounds, they sniff out rattle snakes on our property (somehow they picked up this habit on their own). They know better to get within even 10 ft, but they will yap and howl till we shoot the darn things, lol.

i have a bully not sayin they dont have drive but not as much as a APBT....plus i live in the city....i would love to go shoot a deer, i never been "hunting" with a gun

The bf has been thinking about training one of our dogs for hunting. He has yet to do it but he has been talking about it.

i plan on jake being a catch dog his sire and dam both were and most of his grandsires and grand dams have been as well im just waitin on him to grow up

Well here in Texas... lol Rain loves to chase the 'dillos. Its very funny. When her and Desperado go together she chases the poor thing right into him and he just clamps down with that mouth fo his and its all over. Then the search continues for the next victim. Rain also loves to chase the deer. They are quick but dang she's freakin fast! She can almost keep up. Hasn't caught one yet but I think she might one day. She also tries to predict where thay are runnin too and does short cuts. Very cool to watch.
