It is hard plastic and not only does it bust out teeth it busts up faces and causes lumps on the forelegs when they play with it alot...Riley and Spazz wont touch the hard plastic and the only dog that plays with the damn thing is Peaches. IMO this product gets a giant thumbs down. I am not happy with it at all, wasnt happy when it got here and still not happy with it and it was a loss of money........
Poor Peaches!

the size and style isnt really dog friendly..I had watched Peaches a few times and she kicks it with her front legs which will start to cause bumps with extended use, her teeth are still there THANK GOD, but she busted her lip on it so I took it away from her. now I don't knowing what to do with such an expensive toy.. when I bought it I didn't realize it was Hard otherwise I wouldn't have bought it... I would have gotten a larger softer ball like the jolly ball with the handle.

My dog loves it. She handles it without any injury, bumps or cuts. In fact, I have to hide it because she literally trembles and shakes when I bring it out. :)

I was thinking about ordering this too. I think I'm going to stick with the boomer ball and just order one of those

i have also had no problems with it. Peanut acts the same way we have to hide it because Peanut loves it so much and won't leave it alone. We haven't had any injuries at all with (well unless you count furniture). We actually have 2 because they worked out so great. Also, they work wonderful in the pool!
the only downside i have with it is it is LOUD.
Also, nate we have the boomer ball I got it for Peanut for his birthday and he refuses to play with it! I use it as a chair when I sit on the ground with him. It is almost the same as the egge material wise and he won't use it. I am not sure if it is because the shape isn't as much fun (IDK)

All of my dogs are very hard players so what works for ya'll's dogs wont work for everyone elses and why allow your dog to play with something that can hurt them, break teeth and file them down? I just don't get it... I'd rather have my dogs going for something more mouth friendly but to each their own.
Syd...I would give it to you but Mark refuses to get rid of the damn thing.
He thinks it is ok even though I warned him about her busting her lip a few times pretty bad..I guess he will learn the hard way with this one...when she cracks or breaks a canine from it and she has to go to the vets for a costly removal.

sucks to hear. peanut doesn't use his mouth on it he uses it like a football or in the pool which is why i guess we haven't had any injuries.
megan, if he won't get rid of it tell him it broke and get rid of it that way. can't let the dog get hurt over a damn toy. did you show him that picture of Peaches? hide it or give it away and tell him it had an accident. lying is never good but if he doesn't listen to reason you might have to resort to a fib.

Yes, but we all know what I have to go through to get MY point across to that stuborn ol'goat! lol...I love him anyways.. I was thinking of throwing it over the wall in the peoples big bush next door and say it went over and I cant find it like I originally planned.
they throw beer bottles and trash in our yard and we throw dog toys in their bushes xDDDD that was a joke...We had though..lost a kong and a few tennis balls in a few yards.

you'll have better luck with the eGGe and your dogs hopefully Sid.
Peaches maybe just retarded like previously thought...Do they sell doggy helmets? maybe she can still play with the eGGe if she had a damn helmet!

lol megan! my parents dog Jade will watch Peanut play with his and let it hit her with it once it passes she will try and play with nothing.
i think it just depends on the dog and how they play with it.

I am sure it depends on the style of play and the dog, but Peaches needs a "SPECIAL" helmet obviously when playing with it.

I never used that toy, but I have used a Nylabone which I have mixed feelings about, it has never busted any of my dogs teeth but I wouldn't doubt that it could, I am more concerned about any time my dog throws the toy up in the air that it will break anything it lands on. Tough dogs need tough toys but there is a limit.

I just goggled this toy to see what you were all talking about and alot of places had to stop carrying it because there with manufacturing problems iwth the plastics being to hard or too soft . so maybe you just got one that is too hard .. they started making the "jolly egg" instead to take the place of the egge
