anyone know where i might be able to pick up just ONE hide. Peanut is allergic to beef as in food but i do not know if he would be allergic to beef as in hides. i would hate to spend $35 for 6 to find out he would be allergic and then be stuck with 6 hides.
I am needing to get him something new for his springpole since his current rope is about dead.
also, anyone know of any other type of hides that are available that are not beef just incase Peanut is allergic to cow hides?
Thanks for the help!

I didnt read it all on that site, but I am guessing you have to buy bulk? atleast that is what I have been seeing on hide sites. I will keep looking though

OH, call a local taxidermy and ask them. I know hunters use them and some discard the whole deer besides the Trophy head. So you may get some luck with some hides (I just talked to my uncle and thats what he told me. he hunts deer, bear, phesant, coyotes. . . ect)

Buffalo hides are awesome. Real thick. Did you ask Shane at Stillwater if you could buy 1 and explain your situatio?

where do you find buffalo? i am willing to try anything. Peanut's spring pole rope is looking sad.
no i didn't contact him because i have read on a few threads he has been busy lately wasn't sure if he would have the time to respond since it is only for 1 trial hide (if Peanut doesn't react negatively, no watery diarrhea) i would gladly buy more from who ever i can find just one from. plus seeing on his website he only sells them in bulk i figure he would think i was dumb for only asking for 1 for now.

well, we broke down and ordered the 6 hides from stillwater. just hoping we will be able to use them all :) i can't wait til they get here. wish us luck that Peanut has a blast with them (and doesn't get the yuck butt from 'em). i will update once we get em!
update*
just got confirmation they are coming!!!!!
UPDATE*
the hides came yesterday. OMG they are so creepy lol. We put on up on the springpole but i couldn't live with the smell in my bedroom 4 feet from my bed lol. We have put it on the flirtpole. it has made the flirtpole all the more fun Peanut actually has been whining for it and Jade who has never shown intrest in anything (she has a neurological issues) is going nuts for the flirtpole now, until she gets sidetracked.
So far Peanut has not had any allergic reactions to it like i was worried about.
question...how should i store the other 5 until they are needed without them going bad?
