Thanks folks
We do use the catch gear while training. Lets em get used to working in it.
Here are a few more pics of Pyro in the gear. I get all of my hog hunting supplies from www.countrymikes.com Great guy to deal with.

A little after the fact but that is a nice looking dog. I loved that shot with him running down that pig, he was really focused. I've got to stop looking at those shots of these dogs hunting, they really show their stuff. C Mercer

LOOKIN' GOOD AS ALWAYS DAVE!
Does the cause them any overheating problems when hunting? Obviously it is safer then the alternative, I was just curious...cause it is so hot this time of year!

Sorry just saw this thread had poped back up. Sydney, the heat is a problem this time of year. You really just have to hunt early in the morning, set the dogs out before sunrise, or night hunt. The hogs really have their running shoes on this summer too, so its been very hard on the dogs, have to keep a close eye on them.

Chris, actually I believe the pic you are referring to is of Hemi, not Pyro. But thank you very much for the kind words.

I'm glad your still here. I've had to stop any training or hunting with my dogs as it has been unusually hot and dry here. Plus I'm not able to tolerate the heat like I once could but at least I sweat. Two Walker hounds I sold a bear hunter here in NC got after some hogs while it was dry and hot. He couldn't catch them one died in the woods while he saved the other one. Once they start going down you have real trouble as you know. Especially when your back in the woods.
