chat box

I am testing a smal chat box. It is not a replacement for the chat room. The chat room is instant chat and has privacy options. And more flexible.

The chat or shout box Is just for random small talk. And has no privacy like the chat room does.

It is just in a test phase. Depending on how it works out It may stay it may not.

How would moderation work on the chatbox?, i know in the chat room whatever goes, but thats private. This is in public view of the whole forum. So some moderation would be required.

Same as forums rules. Its not separate Like the chat room is. That chat room you have go to, this is embedded into the forum.

The comments in the shout box dont go away like thay do in chat so there for every one can see them.

Like i was saying its not a replacement for the chat room. It's more of a way to quickly get some ones attention or just ramble about stuff with out hijacking threads.

As a mod you have mod rights to it to click the drop down view archive the mod option will be in there.

If you want a realtime chat with with privacy then I suggest the chat room. Forum rules for the most part do not apply in there. You can say what ever when ever. Another thing is the chat room has a privet msg option. So you can 1 on 1 with your friend about any thing with that.

The new feature is not real time. As of now it takes 30 seconds to automatically receive new messages and that may up to 60 seconds depending on performance.

Once again forum rules apply to the chatbox.

This feature may not stay. I'm just testing it now so at any given moment it may go away.

If members like it then I suggest a poll goes up to see if we keep it or not.

On a side note this will be the last new feature that will be tested or added for a while Unless I get requests for something.
