im not saying any of this to step on toes,so please noone take offence.
i have noticed that this site lacks people posting new threads, and i have also noticed people that were banned on gp were posting here, then after gp went down for a couple of days they started posting there again.this site is only going to stay on top of the water if everyone participates!i myself find myself coming here everyday time after time, and there really isnt that much new stuff being posted.we all as members need to think of ways to get new members,as well as keep the ones we have, and if nothing is being said, then noone will want to stick around!just my two cents..thats all..lol

I try and pop in, probably log quite a few hours but only so much I can post by myself. :)
I'm with you on that one Christy. I like this new site. I did find it when gopitbull was down but I am trying to give my attention to both...LOL

I understand were you comming from. And this is all i can say about it. First thanks for your concern. Second you have to remeber that we are only 1 week old. Considering that in one week a site doesnt even show up on search engines, we are only known by word of mouth. We are actually doing very well for a site with no advertising and not in a search engine yet.
Think about this if you made a site about one of your hobbies For one it takes most ppl months just to get the site up and running we did it in a couple of days. Back to the you make a site thing. OK you make a site about one of your hobbies. And you havent posted a link to the site anyware and it does not show upon search engines becouse the domain is so new. How would you expect ppl to find it? How many members do you think you would have in a week. From experiance its usually no more than 5 unless you make the site with your friends in mind.
I cant post as often as i would like because im the one driveing this train wreck so to speak. I have to make sure every thing is up and running right. hell we just got a actuall reall logo last night.
For the time being we are all friends here this place was ment for friends. As time flows we will have a larger user base and more activity. But like a pup you cant expect a 1 week old dog to draw a crowd hanging from a spring pole it just cant be done.
So contrabution and time right now is our enemy but patiance is our friend. It will come trust me. I can show you examples of other dog sites that have been up for 3 months and dont have the post count activity or user count as this site has in one week.
But yes we are working on advertisment and search engines finally at least reconize the domain name existes. As of right now we are fighting a up hill battle, So we have to put on our running sheos and push threw every little bit helps. Im hopeing at least Because believe me this site was not cheap to put up.
Allso not one day has gone by we havent gotten at least one new member. And "Threads: 156, Posts: 1,775, Members: 34, Active Members: 34" is not bad for the first week.

No im not upset at all. And i would hope no one else is. But i have no problem at all with ppl posting over there. As far as im conserned GP is our sister site. And lets face it what gets posted over there for the time being is going to have more hits. But it would be cool if they could cross post allso.

Thanks belinda for noticing. I do however belive that infinity hit the nail right on the head. The site is only a week old. You have to give it time to grow and for us to be able to advertise it. In all reality this site is still under construction. We are getting a little peice of the puzzel at a time put together. There is only so much each person can post about on here with a count of 34 members. Just give it a little more time and I am sure you will start to see more activity and more members. Again thanks for caring;)

Most dont care what I say. but recruiting gets folks to look but thats usually it. you have to have something to get new members and get them to stay. activity and posting good information is the key. the more times you follow a link here or post a thread with a tag, it all adds up and gets the site its recognition. when people do a search, they search for a certain thing like a bloodline or a blue nose. chances are if you have a post here with a good explanation, they will sign up. if the members are cool and offer good info they will come back.

Unfortunatly we dont show up yet is general searches because the domain is so new. So the ppl here that care about this site will have to keep posting even if it doesnt seem rewarding right now. Then once enuf spiders (web crawlers) get here and cache info then we will start showing up and them good posts will come in very handy!

It really a question of what people want from this forum... Do you want a place to learn about our breed the APBT or do you want a place to post pics? Do you want to play games or do you want to talk about drinking? Im sure all is good but its hard to post threads about REAL stuff only to have them disregarded cuz the current "fun thread" is so .... FUN lol
It sucks to see threads about the breed, its temperment, its upkeep, the greatest dogs who ever lived... get passed up for nonsense. I wish we had more stickies. people will come and they need to see this site is about bull dogs and not about.... whatever else we are bull shitting about at the moment.
i agree with belindabone... if the members put more time into sharing bull dog knowledge then i bet this site would have alot more people. Sure this site can be fun, which it is, but lets put some knowledge out there people! Jack, Christy, Infinity, are doing a great job of putting some info out there! im trying also. The members who took it upon themselves to start this thing are doing a great job for the most part. Others arent helping but thats ok i guess not everyone cares about the breed like alot of us.

I think teaching people about the breed is more important than telling people what i like to drink LOL. I just am asking... Before you start posting up useless info, maybe put up some useful info! aslong as your fingers are typing, put them to work! I wouldnt feed fingers that didnt work LOL or is that dogs?

I mean jokes, dog pics, funny threads is great.... but there are other forums out there for that. I jsut thought this forum was made for people who want to know about the REAL APBT, who want to work there dogs, who care to share knowledge of the breed. IDK, maybe im at the wrong forum.

dan i agree that usefull information posts are very important. But so is haveing some fun and getting to know each other, That is the esance of a online comunity. I agree that your posts are more important than "fun" posts. But the fun posts give some of us that are still learning something to do and gives activity to the forum. I learned alot from your posts but not enuf yet to know every thing so while im still waiting to learn more (and not just from your posts but every ones) why not have some less educational more personal posting. I hope you can understand what im talking about.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I DON'T DO FORUMS...stop the bickering.. post what u feel like posting if you honestly feel it fits in the topic.History in history and drinks in the bullshit area, that kind thing..IF YOU don't like it, dont read it get over it...THIS IS NOT A FREAKEN compatition over who post is more important and so on.GET OVER IT or this will fail.THANKS
im not saying any of this to step on toes,so please noone take offence.

Firstly this forum is only a few weeks old and infinity is still setting things up, Secondly this forum has a grand total of 34 members, from all aspects of life, most of whom have full time jobs, so you cant expect them to contribute all the time, unlike gp where they have soo many members and their demographic is much more varied and the percent of members who can contribute is much higher.
But here is the kicker, we are already out doing GP, who have a total of 8950 members, with 13,092 threads, that is 1.45 threads per person. At the same time we have 34 members with 161 threads, that is 4.73 threads per person. So when you put things in perspective we are a lot more active than GP. :)
The real difference i see between this site and GP, is GP is all about just pit bulls, this site is as much about pit bulls as the people who own them. GP pretty much treated most members are low class citizens and anyone who showed any emotions in any thread is warned or banned. Here you are allowed to express your feeling to the fullest, as long as its not a personal attack.

Okay, this is a public forum. It has several different subforums that people are welcome to post what they feel comfortable posting on. There are several important topics being discussed. Just because they may have low post counts does not mean people do not read them or take important information out of them. Sometimes they are read and information taken off them is now in the mind of the reader but if they didnt have prior knowledge they may not have a reason to post on that topic. This doesn't make that topic less important.
Having fun topics and pictures does help the community because you get to know each other and become friends and makes people come to the site. That helps build a community. Without fun from a community it would just be reading books. All of us are capable of picking up books and learn but not everyone has the time with busy schedules to read books that is why they come to forums to learn first hand information.
History and bloodlines are great to post and for all of us to learn. There are a lot of new people that are still learning. It is great to post this information people that wish to learn more will take facts from it and continue to learn.
I feel people get more out of forums when you mix education with a community that you can be friends with. The forum will grow with a healthy mix and participation of everyone.

:D:D GOOD POST!!
I'm not disagreeing with anyone... but I can see where dan is coming from. it just seems like there arent as many discussions about peoples methods of working their dogs, etc. But then again, like leon said there is only 34 members, and all of us do something to provide... I think that eventually, as more people come to the site, there will be more people to spark up threads that we can all learn from. It's just a matter of time

yes sir... alot of us on here DO WORK our dogs... but the difference is, we dont have ppl posin questins... GP has alot of new ppl, that ask questions, and that gets threads going, and ideas flowing. I think we are doing just fine. We are doing great. we just have to keep it up. and i this its VERY important to ahve informational threads, i mean, those are important for the breed. but at the same time, its important to have fun too..... ;)
Yup, if all you have is informational threads, there is no reason for people to join or stay. People can read the info without registering. Its the fun threads that entourage people to participate and get to know other members.

I am going to add a little something to this thread, people who are already on here already have quite a personal knowledge base on the breed. GP has members joining everyday to ask one or two questions, which in-turn starts a new thread and gives everyone a chance to answer their question, but majority of the time people don't stick around. I agree that things are quiet here (for now) and I like that I can catch up and read what interests me.
