Ok so my question is does anyone here use doggie seat belts? I have a car and Brian is pretty good size now and he thinks that everytime we go somewhere that he has to sit in the drivers lap. Doesn't matter who is driving he's just got to be in the drivers lap to be happy. We want to try to teach him to stay in the back seat when we go somewhere and was wondering if this would help with that and also provid saftey for the dog if (hope there never will be) there is ever a car accident? Any advice will be appericated. Thanks

Is there any way you can post a picture of it so I can see what it looks like?

Ok kool. I just would like an idea of what you where talking about. Sometimes looking at something helps me to know what I am looking for when I am out and about. Thanks

I'd suggest just slipping the seatbelt through the back of the harness. They make special car harnesses for dogs and I highly reccomend them. They also make leashes the clip into seatlbelt but I wouldn't use it connected to a collar and it just seems like an unnecessary extra to me. I ALWAYS buckle up the boys in the harnesses when we travel.

we usually hook him up to a seat belt leash we bought a few years ago but sometimes he just sleeps on my lap and i hold him. (i know its bad but he dont move no where)

Thanks Dan fer da Idea. Thats what I was wondering about before I went out and bought something. Now would I have to get a specail harness or could I just use the one that he would normally wear.

i agree man i dont like the leashes that go straight into the seatbelt, i don't think it's a very secure way, i mean what if they were to go flying off the seat?
chino was that way, always wanting to be in the drivers lap. but we got a him a doggy bed that he loves to lay on inside, to get him used to the back seat we have started putting the bed in the backseat when we're taking him somewhere and then he just lays down on it.
im gonna look for a harness soon, i just have been waiting til his next growth spurt...

Tanner has a fold up crate I use in the back of my suv. But once he gets bigger I doubt I will be able to get him into it. I was going to buy one of the seatbelt harnesses once he got a little bigger. If I don't put him in the crate he moves all over the place. Good to hear that people like the seatbelt harness, can they lay down with them too?
