The goal of this sites design is to have a community feel. Easy on the eyes, speed, cleanness. Although Some may still get lost in the site I tried my best to keep navigation simple. Many ideas have ran threw my head for things id like to try, But then I go back to my goal and that is keep it simple. Not overwhelming and full of stuff no one will ever use. I hate clutter and ugliness.
My experience in web design has taught me ppl cant handle for a page to take more than 8 seconds to load. It is very off putting to them. So she was built for speed.
An ugly interface and hard to read colors will also deter ppl. It makes it uninviting, Going to extreme in a scheme lowers your user base. Like if i made this place all black with red writing with a dark environment. It will deter more upbeat cheery ppl. And vice verse. To colorful and ppl will think its fruity.
To much stuff going on overwhelms ppl and discourages them from coming back. They may get confused and lost in the site. Also the more you have going on the more queries are made to the database and the more pics and scripts have to be loaded by the server = slower load times. And you will end up with features ppl wont even know exist.
Adds especially pop ups or redirects are your worst enemy and should only be used as a last resort for getting money to keep the site open. This site is not to make money so you will prolly never see them here. And if you do then you know were in trouble lol. A unintrusive banner or text add is not that bad though. But avoid pop ups or redirects at all costs.
Make sure every thing works properly If a single thing doesn't work the way it should get rid of it. Its unprofessional to have broken links, unusable features, Or things that only work for certain ppl. If it doesn't meet your expectations get rid of the shit.
I have done my best to configure this forum to meet my goals And its almost been 3 months in the making I believe that I am done. And feel no more major changes will be made.
Having said that I am open to some last minute requests If there is any thing you feel is missing or should be changed as far as the design of the site.
Speak now or forever hold your peace. or so they say.
